As the Program Associate, Willa supports the implementation of the Foundation’s theory of change and strategic objectives, and takes a leading role in supporting the Foundation’s grantee portfolio.
Before joining The Burke Foundation, Willa worked at GreenLight Fund, a non-profit supporting expansion of innovative programs to address community-identified gaps in education and healthcare in high poverty urban areas. There she managed the financial portfolios for grantees as well as GreenLight offices around the United States, assisted with annual budget and audit processes, and led the development of organization-wide systems. Previously, she was in northwestern Thailand for a six-month fellowship working to address educational inequalities among secondary school students.
Willa graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2016, where she double majored in International Development and History. Raised in New Jersey, she is excited to join a team that is committed to providing children in her home state an equal chance for opportunity and high-quality life outcomes.
