Through our early childhood work in the birth to 5 space, we support and scale evidence-backed programs that empower families and equip children with the core life skills needed to become healthy adults. The first years of a child's life are instrumental in determining their cognitive development, socio-emotional growth, and long-term health outcomes. We know that one in four American children are from underserved families and enter kindergarten not ready to learn, and as a result fall behind at an early age. In addition, we recognize that in supporting young children we must employ a two-generation approach, taking into account the difficulties, barriers, and stressors that parents struggle with. We also acknowledge the importance of quality prenatal care in setting up families for success. We invest not only in children, but in the parents, caregivers, and communities that support them.
